About the artist

Historic architecture, as well as the beauty of the western landscape, inspire me to paint.  I strive to preserve the images and serenity of Colorado, where my family has lived and worked since 1859.  Having developed a unique recognizable style, I focus on strong composition, high contrast, and distinctive detail, all with a limited palette.

Having graduated from the University of Colorado with a minor in fine arts, I have continued to be inspired by numerous well-known artists.  I receive my strongest support from my husband, Kent, as we travel and record inspirational images throughout Colorado and the West.

Being a co-owner of the Georgetown Gallery for more than twenty-five years has allowed me to meet my worldwide collectors.  I have received many awards in local, regional and national shows for over forty years.

Having retired from teaching in Jefferson County Schools, I now have more time to paint and explore new ideas.

High-quality, permanent watercolor on 400 lb Arches rough paper are my major tools.  Occasionally my work is reproduced as high quality limited-edition gicleé.
